Perhaps a little bit of a flashback with this week’s mini, but I figured it was appropriate given the subject. See, down here in good ol Florida, all I hear about is Tea Party this and Tea Party that… And while I’m happy we have a governor election with a 3rd party and even a non-affiliate, both which have a fighting chance… I’m also taken back by the controversy it’s caused. Of course, only in Florida would this happen. It’s a strange place. But the short of it is there’s a national Tea Party and a Florida Tea Party which got its name on the ballot and the national one is not happy about it and the two sides are fighting and suing and feuding. So it’s a mess. Like always. But such is the teen drama that is politics.
So gang, this all comes around to an interesting thought… Back in the old wowclassic brochure it said you could get “dishonorable kills” which would earn you negative rep! I, of course, had the great idea that my Dwarf hunter would get kicked out of the Alliance and join the Horde. Well that didn’t go very far… bout as far as my Dwarf mage… but still… I always wondered… oh, right! Anyways! So here’s the poll of the week! XD
(btw, this weeks cameos include Olord, Mikeoxbig, and extra points if you guess the tauren)
This one goes out to all my fellow Pallies. An ode to my bubblehearth, how I will miss thee. It’s very tragic really, we had a great run didn’t we? For those who don’t know, the paladin ability Divine Shield, aka bubble, was shortened from (I don’t even remember, 12 seconds?) to like 8 seconds, making it basically incapable of casting hearth with it…
I really understand why the changes happened… but man, that was such a class defining ability. Now how am I going to abandon my buddies when a fight is going sour? >)
I wasn’t really sure about the changes in all other aspects at first, but I kinda like them now. I guess it makes ret less “wack a mole” like.
So how does everyone like the changes to your class?
Keep It Simple, Stupid!
It’s very true though. Sure, I’ve thought about it after playing a few games that give you a lot more customizations. Heck, even Lord Of The Rings Online has really great customizations (well… minus the horde… which is kinda lame). But then there’s the other extreme… Like Oblivion or Fallout 3 or Dragon Age… You could spend HOURS sitting there, tweeking every last polygon of your face, hate your class/spec and redo the whole thing over again! Which I have done! I guess you can save before the exit, but meh… And really, when you get an idea in your head on what your guy should look like, there are so many options to tweek, you end up looking like you took a brick to the face and had plastic surgery by a blind doctor! Why there are more than 1000 ways to jut your chin I’ll never know, but it’s at least 990 more than necessary! More options I’d like, not near infinite. I would at least like to see the ability to alter your body type or height.
This week’s cameo is Brimu.
Now this is one of those things I’m really looking forward to! Not only will this help get us oldschoolers out and about to see all the changes, but also expose us all to a lot of lore.
Though, it gets my imagination running wild when I think about what we may find! Armor? Ancient texts with lore? NPC pets? Or just a musty old gold box with a suspicious number of skeletons around it…
NEWS FLASH!!!
I am now officially a company! Woot! Jester Brand is online and ready to rock!
So yeah, come visit the Jester Brand Store for all sorts of fun stuff. Got buttons, magnets, and prints! Here are some of my favs:
Only in Gilneas…
Well, the Worgens are in fact getting an ability called “Running Wild“, which lets them transform into their own mount… meaning themselves! Sounds familiar huh? Planesrunning anyone? The Tauren mount that was basically the same thing, when you get down to it. This leaves the Alliance 1 less mount for all those collectors and the Taurens will stare longingly at their werewolven counterparts. So I ask you, the good people of Azeroth…
ps… this week’s cameo is Rezinator.
Well gang, been wanting to do this one for a while now. I really enjoyed the movie and graphic novels! If you haven’t yet, go watch it (if it’s still out, idk!) or maybe the dvd will be here shortly. Or the books, which are really neat too! Been wanting the ps3 game too but haven’t gotten that one yet.
So yeah, the movie got me thinking about the wowland bosses and the reasons why we go deep into the dungeons to fight these guys. Yeah, I guess there’s gold and gear to be had… and achievements and things like that. Probably lore too… But OTHER than that, lol! Growing up on 80s video games, I feel like 90% of the plots were to rescue the princess from whatever impending doom. Whatever happened to that? And seeing that ps3 demo totally rekindled that kind of feeling. So I think we need some good old fashioned princess savin’ missions or beating up the 7 evil exes or whatnot. Can’t the Lich King toss a barrel or two? Comeon! >)
Anyways, check em out Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Movie & Books. And Game too!
Also, if you haven’t yet done so, check out my new comic What’s Shakin’!! It’s a hoot n a holler I tells ye!
And the polls are in! Varok Saurfang is the new Warchief of the Horde! And since my poll was “super official”, I shall expect a last minute update to the beta in some form of hotfix to reflect the results. Yup… aaaaaany minute now…
So anyways, while we wait on their programmers, lets have ourselves a chat. Last week I ran the comic Crocolisk Hunting and Nielsdejong mentioned we are getting our (the Horde) own green gnomes soon enough… These be words of both wisdom and horror.
Now last expansion there were squid goats from outer space and crazy fel magic addicted elves that graced our little Azeroth. Many people from the Alliance flooded over to the Horde, though mainly speculative, because we got a “pretty” race. Of course, we Hordes know the trolls are the true pretty race, however, we shall humor this reasoning. Now in Cata, there are two more races, teen wolf and gremlins… or something to that extent. And I wonder, how much cross faction migration will there be…
Here’s a comic suggestion from the Nith man himself!
To be a true fisherman, you need the right bait for the right catch. Big game require big bait… And nothing’s more tasty to a hungry Crocolisk than a delicious gnome! That’s right! Come on down to Crazy Nith’s Hunting Adventure Xtreme!
And remember… gnomes ski free!
(btw… that’s Hemet Nesingwary there… master huntsman extraordinaire)
ps… I just updated the version of comicpress which of course killed all of my settings… if anyone notices anything majorly out of wack or something completely missing, let me know.)
