And here I thought gnome tanks were hard to see! This occurred to me when tanking WC that my little goblin is as easy to spot as Liu Bolin. Yeah, he’s pretty awesome btw…

So, this is a little follow up to the one I did a while back… I’ve tried, I really have, to get into a lot of these F2P “free to play” games, and although some are well done visually and/or mechanically, they all fail terribly in one regard- they’re not free.
And this above all else drives me insane! I’d almost rather purchase the game once or pay for a subscription because I it just feels like if you were to get into any of them, the same way we are into wowcraft, then we’d need to take out a loan and a second mortgage on the house for the same level of play.
Then there’s LOTRO “Lord of the Rings Online”, that started off like wowland, but then went freebie… well… sort of. See, I fell for it, made my little dwarf and after hours of figuring out what the heck the difference between three of the warrior classes that were basically the same, I realized that it was just the 1st level of the game that was free… xpacs not included. So it’s like if you could play warcraft for free but realized it was only wow-classic!
Anyways, I wont get into the little points on the other F2P games that make you buy from the item shops or are covered with banner ads, but would like to just toss out a little survey…

News Flash! CC Secret Santa Revealed!
by Coffinshaker on December 22, 2010 at 5:31 pm
My buddy Tokkar from Tales From The Crossroads on tales.net16.net did the secret santa of Coffin Comics! He did an amazing job! Click on the thumbnail to go to his site and check it out! Also, take a look around while you’re there, he’s got some excellent stuff on his site and it’s very funny too! >D
Ok, you know what? I give up! lol! I’ve tried writing you all a long beautifully articulated article worthy of a high grade thesis, but my computer crashed after hours of work and killed it all. So y’all gonna get the gist now. XD
So the long and short is earlier this month, the powers that be wanted to get rid of future unemployment benefits (extensions), then the man said “noh wai” and tried to talk to them. They said they would give us peasants our benefits only if the top 2% ($250,000 income and higher) had tax cuts that would equal, you guessed it, $700 billion! So basically, our country is run by cartoonish evil villains with black hats and large curly mustaches who tie our economy to the rails of an oncoming train. Lovely huh.
Since I made this comic, things have been back and forth and I think some of the people get the extension, while others who’ve been out of work longer, such as your’s truly, are still left high and dry. But all this has been pretty muddled in political jargon so who the heck knows what’s happening anymore.
Ok, about this point I started getting into why the economy is in bad shape and offered very concise and logical methods for how we as a people can fix it without having to result in a revolution. Buuuuut, I’m exhausted. If you would like to hear more let me know and I’ll try to retype it, but for now, I’ll cut it a bit short. XP

Saaaaay Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! A tuesday update? Well, tis the season for secret santas over at WoW.com and I got my good buddy Aza’s! So this friday’s is a tuesday! Yay for early updates!
Aza runs a comic over at TormentOfTheWeek.com, updated tuesdays, and is a hilarious wowland inspired comic. You should definitely give it a read from the start, but if you’d like to catch up a little quicker, then check out the Latest Story Arc! The characters from left to right are Solstia (in the foreground… and yes… she gets knocked out a lot!), Cyndrei, Detective Innervate Druid O’Thunderbluff, Azarizotza, and Xandaria.
(ps… for the non-warriors/pallies… Concussive Blow is a warrior stun and pallies, well… if they had any more, we’d just call them rogues!)

You know what the best part about being an artist is? It’s that if you don’t like something, you have the power to change it however you see fit. Don’t like how your yard looks? Just paint a new one. Spouse need a pick-me-up? Just a splash of photoshop… You get the idea. So when I heard all these rumors about my boy Thrall gallivanting about in a dress and finagling with some orc, I just had to do something about it.
Yeah, you’ve all heard me complain about how I don’t approve of the change of regeim and such. And I’m sure Aggra is a capable warrior… But a world (of warcraft) without the Thrall & Jaina duo? Just unthinkable! So, submitted for your approval, I have drawn in a little correction to the lore.
Adam Savage said it best, “I reject your reality and substitute my own.”
So I couldn’t help but notice some of the models have had updates. Yes, I did cover this a tad with the whole shovel face thing, but I guess I didn’t really pay that close attention to our beloved leader, Thrall.
When I left, he was this dashing green pillar of hope. Clad in battle armor and ready to thwart whatever evil that came his way… Then… Cata… He traded in that armor for a beaded necklace and a dress and some how, for some reason, got his lower jaw caught in what I assume was a cog in some sort of goblin machine, which stretched his face like the drawing and quartering of Stretch Armstrong! (remember those?)
Anyways, check out the differences here BEFORE and AFTER.
I’ve kind of touched on the graphic changes before, so let me follow up with a NPC specific question… one that’s bugged me quite a bit actually…

You know, I totally thought this was the case when all the Cata beta info started coming in… But some places, even the ones you’d think would become lush gardens, just got blasted! Heh. Overall, I’m very impressed with what Blizzard was able to do. Going back and redoing the entire world is not an easy task, but I think they had great results. Sure, I’ll miss the old world a bit, but I think they did a marvelous job.
So gang, let me hear your thoughts! What’s your new favorite zone? Is everyone happy with the way the world looks now, sad, indifferent (///.O)?
Tired of paying mages to port you? Warlocks siphoning all your gold? Flight Masters annoying you with demeaning security check points and overcharging you for all your extra bags? Then fly Troll Air! For just pennies you could have your very own troll chauffeur for all your travel needs!
Ok, when I heard about the new troll druids, I was ecstatic! No more are we bound to being mad cows! But then I saw the troll druid flight form… which looked like… kinda like the movie The Fly if a troll and windrider got fused together. Very strange!
Not to mention, to my dismay, the lack of proper transportation in two of my favorite cities! Guess there’s no reason to have my hearth bound to Dal anymore. So this is probably the golden age of the mage and warlock now. Just hope they make it so you can hop aboard your troll buddies someday. >)
